Robbers shoot & butcher man to death in Kumasi

GunA 42 year old small fuel station attendant Anthony Dabo has been shot and butchered to death by three unmasked armed robbers at his home at Nkoransa near Kumasi.

The incident according to the deceased’s wife Hannah Amponsah happened at about 2am on Wednesday.

According to her they heard a heavy push on their door around that time so the deceased husband asked her to go into hiding with their 10 year old son.

Madam Hannah told TV3’s Ashanti regional correspondent, Ibrahim Abubakar that the armed robbers forceful entered their wooden structure room and shot her husband twice, one in the stomach and the other in the leg.

They later used a machete and butchered Anthony (the deceased) killing him. She said it looked like the robbers were there to kill her husband and not to steal because they did not demand anything when they entered the room.

Fuel attendant killed in KumasiShe added that the robbers later made away with an undisclosed amount of money and two mobile phones.

The body has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue. The Ashanti regional police have launched investigations into the incident. They also locked their eldest daughter in her room.

This comes in the wake increasing spate of robberies in the Ashanti region forcing the police to device strategies to curb the menace which has left many living in fear.

Police reinforcement was deployed to the region to beef the up security.
