Nana Akufo-Addo begins 14-day self isolation after someone close to him tested positive for COVID-19

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo- Addo has gone into self isolation for the next 14 days in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.

According to a statement signed by Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the move comes after one person within the President’s close circle tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.

The statement said President Akufo-Addo had tested negative on Saturday but elected to self-isolate out of caution and on the advice of his doctors.

It continued that the President will be working from Jubilee House during the period of his self isolation.
