Nana Ama McBrown reveals how frustration pushed her into acting

Popular Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama McBrown has narrated how she started her acting career.

She revealed on UTV’s United Showbiz program that she decided to venture into acting due to frustration.

According to her, she was desperate for a job following her return from the United States of America.

While listening to the radio someday, Nana Ama said she heard deceased Ghanaian actor, Kwame Owusu Ansah talking about an impending audition and she quickly picked one of the phone numbers he announced.

She posited that she didn’t give up after her calls to this number were not answered on multiple occasions. The actress thanked one Kofi Boateng who helped her to reach Kwame Owusu Ansah.

Thankfully, her encounter with the late actor yielded a positive result after he directed her to Miracle Films where she got an opportunity to be costumier after she didn’t get a movie role following the audition.

Nana Ama McBrown indicated that she got her first movie role on the set after they needed a woman to drive a car of an armed robbery group in the movie.

She recalled her first payment was GHS 40 for each part of a movie which was part one and two.
