Medikal Conceals Fella’s Name Tattoo Amidst Divorce Rumors

0

Beyond Kontrol boss Medikal has covered up his ex-wife’s name tattooed on his left arm amidst the recent commotion surrounding his divorce from Fella Makafui.

Earlier, the rapper adorned his skin with tattoos showcasing both Fella’s name and that of their daughter, Island Frimpong, representing Fella and Island. Moreover, they both sported matching tattoos of two half faces of a lion on their respective arms, symbolizing their union.

However, following their separation, Medikal has opted to obscure Fella’s name by completely shading it, resembling a sort of barcode, while retaining their daughter’s name. He posted a snapshot of the updated tattoo on Snapchat shortly after publicly announcing their divorce.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, March 30, 2024, Medikal clarified that Fella is now his “baby mother” and emphasized their current status as co-parents to their daughter. This clarification came in response to being tagged as “Medikal’s wife” in a social media post, where he sought to clarify their evolving relationship dynamic.

Medikal has been particularly vocal on social media lately, sparking speculation about his well-being. However, some fans speculate that his increased activity is simply a strategy to generate excitement for his upcoming concert, “Medikal Live in London,” happening at Indigo at the O2 on 3rd May.

In a recent update on X, he suggested that there are more significant revelations on the way, pledging to reveal them after he’s done with the concert. This announcement seeks to counter the perception that all his recent posts are solely promotional for his album.

Music star OlivetheBoy, whose real name is Joel Ofori Bonsu, has opened up about his relationship with his father, a Presbyterian pastor.

Despite their different worlds—one in music and the other in ministry—OlivetheBoy revealed that his father not only supports his music but also loves his songs.

During an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, OlivetheBoy revealed that he hails from a family grounded in discipline and principles, with his mother being a teacher and his father a man of God. Despite this upbringing, OlivetheBoy faced initial resistance from his family due to their religious background when he ventured into music. Expectations were for him to follow in his father’s footsteps and pursue a career in the ministry. However, he discovered his passion for music, leading to initial friction within his family.

“My parents initially did not support me when I started music. When I dropped my first song, I was supposed to be in school by then. My mum called me and asked why I used my class period to record music, she wanted to get me arrested.

“You know people have the perception that students who pursue music after completing school are koborlor,” he explained.

As OlivetheBoy’s music gained traction, he observed his father developing an affinity for his songs, particularly favoring his breakthrough track, ‘Goodsin’. Likewise, OlivetheBoy’s mother softened towards his musical pursuits, impressed by his commitment and talent. She even attended one of his concerts and enthusiastically joined him on stage.

According to him, his parents now offer support, though they have implemented restrictions on the lifestyles he can pursue and defined certain boundaries he must adhere to.

This announcement, made through a statement issued by the Interior Minister, emphasizes the importance of observing the holiday throughout the nation.

The specific date of Eid-ul-Fitr varies geographically, as local religious authorities rely on their observation of the new moon to determine the commencement of each lunar Hijri month.

Abuja Court Summons Five Social Media Users in Mercy Chinwo Defamation Case

The Chief Magistrate Court situated in Wuse Zone 2, Abuja, Nigeria, has summoned five individuals accused of criminally defaming gospel artist Mercy Chinwo and her spouse, Blessed Uzochikwa, on social media.

Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna has instructed Okoronkwo Ejike, Kingsley Ibeh, DJ Spoiltkid, Terrence Ekot, and Samuel Agozie to personally appear on April 23, 2024.

The claims originated from social media posts that went viral last week, questioning the parentage of the couple’s child. Mercy Chinwo and her husband’s legal representatives lodged the complaint, accusing the defendants of cyber intimidation, spreading false information, and cyberstalking, all allegedly violating penal and cybercrime laws.

The complainants contend that the defendants deliberately harmed their reputation with defamatory content, leading to significant repercussions both locally and globally. Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna has mandated the defendants to face the charges in court later this month.

Furthermore, the complaint specifies that Nathaniel Bassey was erroneously linked to the accusations, as the defendants suggested the possibility of him being the father of Mercy Chinwo’s child.

In a petition submitted on April 1, 2024, Bassey’s legal representatives have alleged criminal defamation and cyberstalking against Okoronkwo Ejike, Kingsley Ibeh, Terrence Ekot, and Dj Spoiltkid, emphasizing the negative impact on Bassey’s reputation and professional life.

The petition emphasizes, “The consequences of making such statements on social media have been known to tarnish the reputations of individuals, render marriages unstable, and many never recover from them.”

The ‘Yeshua Hamashiach’ singer urges the Inspector-General to take action to deter similar behavior in the future.

Prince David Osei Reveals Why He’s Confident He’ll Be Ghana’s President

0

Actor Prince David Osei regards his desire to become the President of Ghana as a divine calling, though initially met with skepticism from many. Despite others assuming he was joking, he firmly believes this aspiration is a bestowed gift from God.

Speaking to Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z over the weekend, the actor said, “Everyone in this world has something that God gives to them. Sometimes when you speak, they say you talk big but if you don’t say it, it won’t manifest.

“It’s not even that I want to become a president, I think I have the calling, because I’ve dreamt it.

Looking back on his life’s path, he reveals that from the tender age of 14, he nurtured aspirations of leaving a substantial mark on the world, fervently seeking guidance for his future endeavors.

“What I’m doing here right now today, I dreamt it before becoming a star. I’m not joking. When I was 14 years old, I knew I was going to become somebody popular.
“I didn’t know what it was, but I started praying towards it. And in the same way, I saw the president’s vision,” he added.

He discloses that his desire to pursue the presidency wasn’t solely driven by personal ambition but was also affirmed by a prophetic message from Prophet Amoako Atta, reinforcing his conviction in his divine purpose.
He said,”when we say stuff it’s not like maybe we are drunk or I might not look like it but who are you to judge? God chooses to make anybody what he wants to make. How many years have you given yourself for this to come to fruition?”

In an Instagram post in October 2023, the actor announced his aspiration to become Ghana’s president, causing skepticism among fans and colleagues. Inspired by Barack Obama, he believed in the realization of his dream, despite receiving limited support from some friends. He acknowledged a sense of destiny towards the presidency and accepted his path.
He wrote: “No matter how hard I try to avoid the calling, everything shows I have to be the president someday, that’s why my friends in the game don’t want to support me…But what is written is written.”

Charterhouse to Unveil Seven New Award Categories for TGMA- Robert Klah Reveals

0

Public Relations Officer of Charterhouse, Robert Klah, representing the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), has announced the introduction of seven new award categories to complement the existing nominations.

These new categories include Producer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Unsung Artiste of the Year.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Klah emphasized the importance of accuracy in categories like Producer of the Year, where recognition is based on a producer’s hit songs within the year. He clarified that concerns regarding the Sound Engineer of the Year category are addressed, as it is awarded to the producer of the winning Record of the Year.

Klah stated, “Producer of the year is supposed to be based on the number of hits in a year. Because of the omission and error phase, what it means is that the numbers may change. So these categories are going to come out right after the window of omission and error, so that if there’s any correction done, it reflects in the number.”

He explained that these new categories will be announced after the errors and omissions phase, allowing for corrections to be reflected in the final nominations. This phase provides stakeholders with a one-week window to submit concerns about any errors or omissions in the nominations. Klah also mentioned upcoming categories like Unsung Artiste, Music for Good, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Traditional Artiste, totaling about seven new categories to be announced gradually.

“We also have the Unsung Artiste, which is going to be announced this week. And then there are a few others like Music for Good, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Traditional Artiste. I think about seven of them; those are going to be announced over the period,” he stated.

Sean Diddy’s Son Christian Combs Accused of Sexual Assault and Drugging Woman in Looming Lawsuit

Reportedly, Christian Combs is implicated in an upcoming lawsuit alleging sexual assault and drugging of a woman, as stated by attorney Tyrone Blackburn.

The lawsuit, although not yet officially filed, is in progress. The identity of the alleged victim remains undisclosed, with limited details available about the case.

Combs has not directly addressed the allegations but recently shared a cryptic social media post reading “stop the [blue cap emoji].” Known by his stage name King Combs, the rapper has been linked romantically to various women, including ex-girlfriend Breah Hicks and current partner Raven Tracy, who recently tattooed Christian’s name on her body.

These accusations have placed Combs in a precarious position, reminiscent of his father Sean “Diddy” Combs, who faces multiple lawsuits alleging sexual assault, sex trafficking, and drug abuse. Attorney Blackburn, who represents Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones in a lawsuit against Diddy, is also involved in this case.

Additionally, Homeland Security recently conducted raids on Diddy’s properties, resulting in Christian and his elder brother Justin being briefly detained and then released pending investigation.

If You Cannot Afford a Passport, Please Don’t Go for It – Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey Urges

0

Foreign Affairs Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey has appealed to Ghanaians, urging them to thoughtfully assess their necessity for passports prior to application, particularly given the recent increase in fees.

Mrs. Botchwey stressed that the Ghanaian Passport’s significance as a primary identification document has waned, reiterating the importance of obtaining it only when necessary. She directly tackled public concerns regarding the increased passport fees, highlighting the strain it imposes on government resources and its adverse effects on service delivery.
“The passport applicant pays GHC100, the state absorbs GHC300. It cannot be the case that it will continue, because it is affecting even our operations. And Ghanaians are complaining that it takes long to get a passport and all of that. If government is subsidizing passports heavily, it is difficult to provide any good service to Ghanaians. I am asking humbly Ghanaians, that please if you do not have need for a passport and because you cannot afford, please, humbly, I am asking you not to go for a passport,” she said.

Under the newly implemented fees, applicants will be charged GHC500 for a 32-page standard booklet and GHC644 for a 48-page standard booklet. Similarly, those selecting expedited services will pay GHC700 for the 32-page option and GHC800 for the 48-page option.

These fee adjustments were outlined in the Ministry’s 2024 Budget estimates document, which received approval from Parliament’s Subsidiary Legislation Committee.

During an interview with journalists in Accra on April 2, 2024, the sector Minister clarified that only Parliament possesses the authority to reverse the charges once approved. Mrs. Botchwey emphasized Parliament’s decision-making role, stating, “Parliament agreed to increase it, so it’s been done. If Parliament decides that we should go back, we would have to look at it. It’s Parliament that decided and we go by what they decided.”

Taylor Swift Joins Forbes Billionaire List

0

The latest Forbes World’s Billionaires List showcases the inclusion of the American pop sensation, Taylor Swift, whose meteoric rise to fame has translated into a staggering net worth of $1.1 billion. Alongside her, Sam Altman, the visionary behind the AI chatbot ChatGPT, enters the elite club with an impressive $1 billion fortune. Topping the list are Bernard Arnault and his family, titans of the French luxury goods empire LVMH, boasting a monumental wealth estimated at $233 billion.

This year’s list marks a significant milestone, with a record-breaking 2,781 billionaires, reflecting an increase of 141 from the previous year. Their combined wealth has surged to an astonishing $14.2 trillion. Taylor Swift’s entry into the billionaire ranks is attributed to her unmatched success in the music industry, highlighted by her historic achievement at the Grammy Awards and the commercial triumph of her album “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” which emerged as the best-selling vinyl LP of the year.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk, the visionary entrepreneur behind Tesla and X (formerly Twitter), secures the second position on the list with a net worth of $195 billion. Despite a modest 8% increase from the previous year, Musk’s fortune falls short of his peak valuation in November 2021 when he became the world’s first $300 billion individual. Notable newcomers to Forbes’s list include basketball legend Magic Johnson and TV producer Dick Wolf, each amassing a wealth of $1.2 billion.

Chase Peterson-Withorn, senior editor on wealth for Forbes, characterizes the year as “amazing” for the world’s wealthiest individuals, noting the emergence of a record-breaking 14 centi-billionaires, each possessing fortunes surpassing the $100 billion mark. This concentration of wealth underscores the growing economic disparity, as just 0.5% of the world’s billionaires hold 14% of the total billionaire wealth.

Geographically, the United States maintains its dominance, boasting a staggering 813 billionaires, followed by China and India. In the UK, hedge fund manager Michael Platt emerges as the wealthiest individual, followed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, part-owner of Manchester United, and inventor Sir James Dyson. However, the list also records the departure of 189 individuals, including 129 from mainland China, primarily due to weak consumer spending and a downturn in the real estate market. Additionally, the passing of 32 billionaires, including notable figures like Mohamed Al-Fayed, Silvio Berlusconi, and Jimmy Buffett, marks the end of an era for some of the world’s most influential personalities.
