Rihanna landed in India on Thursday for a special performance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar.
The international superstar, accompanied by her husband A$AP Rocky, created a buzz online even before her arrival.
Her substantial luggage, resembling an extraordinary amount of cartons, prompted jokes about a “folding house” on social media. Rihanna addressed the speculation, revealing in the comments section that she was, in fact, transporting her own stage, not a portable abode.
Videos shared on fan pages offered glimpses of Rihanna rehearsing on Thursday night for her much-anticipated performance scheduled for Friday during the three-day pre-wedding extravaganza.
This marks Rihanna’s debut concert in India, adding a new chapter to the Ambani pre-wedding legacy that previously featured renowned artists like Beyonce, Coldplay, and Chainsmokers for the celebrations of Ambani’s son Akash and daughter Isha.
The star-studded Jamnagar festivities will also feature a concert by Diljit Dosanjh, attracting attention from Bollywood’s elite. Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and many other notable figures from the film industry are set to attend the celebrations.
After the three-day spectacle, the grand wedding is slated to take place in Mumbai in July.
