Chef Smith Hits 700 Hours in GWR Cooking Marathon

Chef Smith, also known as Millennium Chef, has dedicated an impressive 700 hours to continuous cooking since starting on February 1.
Originally planning a 360-hour cookathon, equivalent to 15 days, Chef Smith now aims to conclude on March 6 at the Amadia Shopping Center in Spintex, Accra.
The support for him has steadily grown, with notable figures such as comedians, artists, media personalities, and individuals contributing through donations and encouragement.

To enhance the marathon experience, various engaging events, including musical chairs, dance battles, and live match streaming, have been organized to attract a larger audience and keep them entertained at the venue. The goal is to create a vibrant atmosphere throughout the culinary endeavor.

Inspired by Hilda Baci’s record-breaking cooking marathon, Chef Smith faced approval challenges but rescheduled the event for February 2024 after unsuccessful attempts in July and September 2023.

His aim is to surpass Beauty Obasuyi’s 448-hour record. While waiting for confirmation from Guinness World Records, it’s important to note that Chef Alan Fisher currently holds the record with 119 hours and 57 minutes.
