Stranded Ghanaians abroad to pay GH¢ 9,000 and GH¢13,000 as quarantine fees

Ghanaians stranded abroad who want to be evacuated home will be required to pay between GH¢9,000 and GH¢13,000 as quarantine fees.

This is according to the Permanent Mission of Ghana to the United Nations and the Consulate-General of New York which released a statement last Monday, sighted by KwasiAboagyeLive.com.

According to the statement, the flight bringing Ghanaians home from New York will leave on June 25 from the Liberty International Airport.

Reporting time is 1p.m. and departure time being 5:25p.m.

The airfare for the economy class is $1,350 while business class will $2,840 and allowed two bags.

The statement added that there will be a 14-day mandatory quarantine which can be extended to 21 days upon arrival in Accra in 5-Star and 3-Star hotels being Kempinski and African Regent and it would cost the evacuees GHS 650 and GHS 550 respectively.

There will be pre boarding screening before departure and evacuees are required to provide for their own PPEs.
