John Paintsil named Kaizer Chiefs’ Assistant Coach

Former Black Stars defender John Paintsil has been unveiled as the new Assistant Coach at South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs.

Paintsil replaces former South African international Doctor Khumalo, who will be redeployed, according to the club.

Paintsil was unveiled on Monday.

He was joined on the podium with Marco Muhnoz, who will be Physical Trainer, and Alexandre Revoredo, who will be Goalkeeper’s Coach.

They will assist manager Steve Komphela at the Amakhosi

Paintsil retired from professional football at Maritzburg United, also in the Premier Soccer League.

He was instrumental in Ghana’s quarter-final run at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

He officially announced his retirement from football last Friday.
