Medikal’s Bold Take on Fame and why Ghanaians Should Rethink Guinness World Records

Rapper, Medikal shared his perspective on the current trend of attempting Guinness World Records (GWR), discouraging Ghanaians from pursuing such shortcuts for recognition.
During an interview with Mercury Qyaye on Hitz FM, he commented on Afua Asantewaa’s disqualification from the longest singing marathon by an individual, expressing, “It’s very sad that she wasn’t declared the winner. But I feel like Ghanaians should put a stop to that. When you work hard, you get the pay. There’s no shortcut. You have to learn through the hard way.”

He added, “If you feel like there’s something going on and that thing can make you attain a certain level of heights or make you get some name to a certain level and put everything aside to focus on that, I don’t feel it’s the right way. You might get some clout here and there, but when they forget about you, where are you going to stand? So, I feel like Ghanaians shouldn’t bother themselves to go watch.”

He urged Ghanaians to focus on meaningful endeavors, find employment, and build a reputation through consistent effort. Additionally, he highlighted the strong work ethic of Ghanaians, emphasizing its role in making the country appealing to visitors, especially during festive seasons.

“Work hard, go job, find something wey go give you some salary and no put your mind for something say ebe ein go change your destiny. Ghanaians are hardworking,” he said, emphasizing that the diligent nature of Ghanaians contributes to the country’s attractiveness, especially during festive seasons.
