MMT maintains prices despite transport fares increment

Management of the state owned Metro Mass Transit (MMT) says it will not increase its transport fares despite the increment in fares by some operators.

The Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC), the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) and other transport unions have increased transport fares by 15% following successive increments of petroleum products by the National Petroleum Authority.

The MMT says the decision is to enable it serve its customers without putting any hardship on them.

The Acting Communications Director of MMT, Bernice Akologo told Onua FM’s Yensempa that the decision was taken after consultations with the Transport Ministry and other stakeholders.
