FIFA have imposed transfer bans on LaLiga duo Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid for the next two windows.

The clubs allegedly broke rules over the transfer of foreign under-18 players, and they failed to successfully contest a decision by world football’s governing body to punish them the infraction.

A FIFA statement read: “Both clubs are to serve a transfer ban that prevents them from registering any players at national and international level for the next two complete and consecutive registration periods.”

Atletico were fined roughly £622,000, while Real were told to pay £249,000.
