Vim Lady fires back over post about Health Minister, says she does not owe anybody apology

Broadcast journalist, Afia Pokuaa popularly known as Vim Lady has said she does not owe anybody an apology over her post about the Health Minister.

When news broke last Saturday that the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu had contracted COVID-19, Afia Pokuaa posted on her Facebook page that she had spoken to the Minister and he told her he was just taking a rest.

“Spoke to the Minister of Health. He says he’s fine and doesn’t have COVID-19 but only needed rest and his usual medication,” she wrote.

However, yesterday during the 11th address of President Akufo-Addo, he confirmed that Mr Agyemang Manu indeed had COVID-19 and is in recovery.

The president’s confirmation led to netizens roasting Afia Pokuaa on various social media platforms and asking her to apologize.

This evening, on her show “Gyaso Gyaso” on Okay FM, Afia Pokuaa made it clear that she does not owe anybody an apology because she only posted what the Minister told her.

According to her, when she saw the news on Citi FM’s Facebook page, she quickly called the Minister for confirmation but he denied it so she can’t fathom why people are bashing her.

She stressed that she has been practicing journalism for many years and has a law background so she cannot report what is not true.

Afia Pokua emphasized that she reported the development on her Facebook page and not on TV or any radio station.

She told those who were attacking her to rather attack the Minister because he lied to her.

This morning, Peace FM’s morning show host, Kwame Sefa Kayi jumped to Afia Pokua’s defense saying he knows she is not a reckless person and until proven otherwise, he stands with her.
