He expressed dismay over this trend, stating it undermines Ghana’s film industry and its professionals, while also disrespecting Nigerian filmmakers’ rights. Adjorlolo criticized Ghanaian television stations for perpetuating this practice, noting its adverse effects on both Ghanaian actors and the local film industry. He emphasized the financial impact and urged these channels to cease such “theft” and respect international copyright laws.

Moreover, he expressed the discontent among Nigerian producers and the potential harm to Ghanaian actors’ opportunities in Nigeria’s film industry.

In Adjorlolo’s words: “I don’t know why the TV stations will not go for permission before downloading their works. We are not talking about content or time. This is an international work and has laws protecting the works. That is why we have copyright and intellectual laws… if you don’t ask for permission, and you telecast, there are consequences for that.”

Adjorlolo further emphasized the impact on Ghanaian actors, stating, “Do you know how many Ghanaians are working here, Anthony Wood, James Gardiner and the rest, even Jackie left not long ago? They give us the opportunity to work, so our livelihood is concerned here? A lot of African countries see Nollywood as a stepping stone, every Ghanaian actor wants to be in Nollywood, and we are doing this to them… it’s not good, they are complaining so bitterly.”

“It is the highest pinnacle of marketing when it comes to music, and I think it will be a great thing to have a Ghanaian on that turf and also bring along some Ghanaians to showcase the quality of music we have here in Ghana,” he stated in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.

MOG Music also shared his encounter with renowned American gospel figure Donnie McClurkin and how McClurkin has positively impacted his life. He revealed that collaborating with McClurkin on ‘Be Lifted’ opened doors to connections with other gospel artists such as Cece Winans, Israel Houghton, and the Winans Brothers.

Furthermore, MOG divulged his plans to launch Levites Records, a record label aimed at signing emerging gospel talents. He expressed his aspiration for Ghanaian gospel artists to flourish and stressed his intention to judiciously share his connections to avoid any misinterpretations.

He stated, “I just started a record label called Levites Records and I want to sign some of the up-and-coming gospel musicians. I want Ghanaian gospel musicians to grow. I think we have that the world should hear. I want to share my connections calculatedly so that nobody will come and pour sand into my gari.”

“I wanted to be sure that I was marrying for the right reasons and not for the reasons that stem from societal pressure. Before I got married, the pressure was there for years but I just turned deaf ears. Because like I always say, ‘At the end of the day I will marry the man of my dreams and not the man that anybody dreams for me,” she explained.

Despite facing years of pressure to marry, Dominic remained steadfast, prioritizing her desire to marry the right person at the right time.

“If anything goes wrong tomorrow, I would be the one left to pack up the pieces and not the society. So, I will do it when I want to do it at the right time.’ And I believe I did it at the right time with the right person,” she added.

Dominic also addressed the speculation about whether her delay in marriage was due to not finding her ideal partner on time, stating, “I met quite a number of people but maybe we just didn’t happen. It just didn’t work out. And I don’t believe in forcing things. If it’s not working, if we are not compatible, there’s no point forcing things then you grow into it and tomorrow you’re out of it.”

Entertainment pundit and politician Kwame Obeng Asare, also known as A Plus, has urged citizens to demand the resignation of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) boss.

This call comes after the Managing Director of ECG, Samuel Dubik Mahama, made controversial remarks during an interview, suggesting that electricity consumption is a privilege rather than a right, and becomes a right only when properly paid for.

A Plus criticized Samuel Dubik Mahama’s comments on the UTV’s United Showbiz program, emphasizing the need for empathy towards Ghanaians facing challenges with electricity bills. He called for the ECG boss to retract his statement and issue an apology, stressing that such insensitivity should not be tolerated.
A Plus highlighted the importance of accountability and urged Ghanaians to demand respect from their leaders, emphasizing that the ECG boss should have addressed the issue with humility and understanding, acknowledging the difficulties faced by many in paying their electricity bills.

“The ECG boss did not do well. Our problem in Ghana is that when a friend or a close associate does something bad, you cannot call them out for it,” A Plus remarked. “Let me talk to the ECG boss, sir, Ghana does not belong to you…you have to respect people and people must tell people the truth. You have to come and beg the people. Come and apologize.”

He continued, “If it were elsewhere, this man would’ve resigned. And Akuffo Addo as the president will not be happy watching the man (Samuel Dubik Mahama) he will not be happy, let’s tell people the truth. Everybody in Ghana must start a trend on Twitter to ask the man [the ECG boss] to resign.”

He urged the media and citizens to hold the ECG boss accountable and not allow him to escape scrutiny for his remarks, insisting on a retraction and apology to the people of Ghana.

A Plus stressed, “We have to condemn it [the statement]. The media must not allow him to get away with it. ECG boss, you have to retract and apologize to the people of Ghana.”
