Arsene Wenger, the former manager of Arsenal Football Club has been honoured with a statue at the Emirates Stadium by club.

The Frenchman, who managed the North London club for 22 years from 1996 to 2018, achieved great success during his time at the helm.

He won three Premier League titles, including an unbeaten league campaign in 2003-04, seven FA Cups, and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1994.

Wenger also oversaw the club’s move from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium, and his influence on Arsenal’s culture and style of play is still evident today.

The statue, which was created by award-winning sculptor Jim Guy, depicts Wenger in his signature tracksuit and scarf. It is 3.5 meters high and weighs approximately half a tonne.

“It’s such a great tribute that the club has done something special for Arsène that he fully deserves and merits,” said Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta. “With a statue now at the stadium, Arsène can have that recognition and be here at our club forever.”

Wenger will be the guest of honor for Arsenal’s pre-season friendly against Monaco next week, and he is sure to be greeted by a warm reception from the fans.
