Bombande, two others to be vetted next week

The Vetting and Appointments Committee of Parliament has scheduled Friday, July 22 as date on which to vet the latest ministerial nominees of President John Dramani Mahama.

President Mahama on Monday, July 11 nominated security expert Emmanuel Bombande as a Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration. The position has been vacant for almost a year.

The former Executive Director of the West African Network for Peace Building (WANEP) is expected to assist Hannah Serwaa Tetteh if approved.

The president also appointed Member of Parliament for Nkwanta North Constituency John Oti Bless as a deputy to Collins Dauda, the Minister for Local Government and Rural Integration.

Joseph Angmor Tetteh will also face the Committee on Friday, July 22 as Deputy Minister-designate for the Eastern Region.

“The Committee hereby invites written memoranda on the nominees from the general public,” a release from the clerk on Thursday, July 14 requested.

The memoranda should reach the Committee not later than Wednesday, July 20, the release added.

The vetting will take place at the Committee rooms 1 & 2 at the New Parliamentary Administrative Block.
